Applied in gold, a Batman logo makes a flashy addition to a Philipp Plein pullover, shown for the designer’s fall-winter 2016 men’s collection.

Between The Avengers and Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice, superheroes are in high demand, so it’s no surprise that designer Philipp Plein looked to the Marvel and DC universes for inspiration. However, given Plein’s dark streetwear aesthetic, perhaps he should have focused on the villains. Dressed in head to toe black, often topped off with a fedora and adorned in leather or studs, models took to the catwalk.

A menacing attitude served the range well as the collection embraced a certain edge with leather parkas, paneled bomber jackets and knit joggers. Incorporating images of Superman, Spiderman, Captain America and more into the range, Plein’s man embraced a youthful aesthetic. This direction was reinforced with the addition of themed backpacks and skateboards.
