Gotham star Ben McKenzie covers the February 2016 issue of August Man Malaysia. Starring in a dapper photo shoot, McKenzie is photographed by Karl Simone. Donning a spring wardrobe from Dior Homme, the 37 year-old actor is styled by Jenesee Utley.
Talking about tackling the role of a young Jim Gordon, who eventually becomes Commissioner Gordon in the Batman universe, McKenzie shares, “I was trying to figure out how to play Jim Gordon.” However, he quickly realized that there was no source material to reference.
McKenzie explains, “This is all new. We have never seen him at this stage of his life before, so I could pretty much do as I please.” The Gotham star continues, “He has never been the focus. It is a tragic story of a good man fighting lawlessness and tyranny. He remains hopeful and continues fighting the fight but he learns that sometimes you have to do what you have to do to get things done.”
