Linking up with the magazine for an interview, Hunnam still can’t avoid the inevitable Fifty Shades of Grey conversation. Reflecting on pulling out of the movie, Hunnam shares, “Oh it was the worst professional experience of my life. It was the most emotionally destructive and difficult thing that I’ve ever had to deal with professionally. It was heartbreaking.”
Addressing rumors that he was having difficulty with the film’s sex scenes, he explains, “The outside perception of that was that I got really cold feet and got scared of the explicit nature of the sexuality of the piece.” Reflecting back on his days during Queer as Folk, he exclaims, “When I was 18 I was getting fucked in the ass, completely naked on national TV, y’know?”
