People magazine has announced David Beckham as its pick for 2015’s Sexiest Man Alive. While Beckham is the first athlete to earn the top honor, Entertainment Weekly points out that the retired soccer icon is the first non-performer to be tapped as People’s Sexiest Man Alive since John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1988.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live for his Sexiest Man Alive reveal, Beckham joked, “I mean it’s the best moment of my career, I can’t believe.” He continued, “I would obviously like my parents for bringing me into this world, of course. I would like to thank my hairdresser, my stylist, photoshop.”
The magazine’s 30th honoree, Beckham opened up to People, “It’s a huge honor and I’m very pleased to accept.” The global star explains, “I never feel that I’m an attractive, sexy person. I mean I like to wear nice clothes and nice suits and look and feel good, but I don’t ever think of myself that way.” Read more on People.com.
