Featured for his role in John Patrick Shanley’s play Prodigal Son, actor Timothée Chalamet stars in a photo shoot for W magazine. Posing for charming images, Chalamet connects with photographer Luca Khouri. Donning designer fashions for spring, the 20 year-old actor is captured in looks from the likes of Prada and Raf Simons, as styled by Sam Walker.
Talking to the magazine over a bowl of matzo ball soup at Cozy Soup ‘N’ Burg in Soho, New York, Chalamet confides, “In these kind of interviews—and this isn’t a woe-is-me kind of thing, these are just observations—for whatever reason that I’m supposed to be wide-eyed, very thankful, excited. You hear that word a lot, excited—exciting, fresh-faced kid. And that part of me really exists… but, well, there are other shades of me.”
Prodigal Son plays like an autobiography of sorts for Shanley, who borrowed from his own youthful experiences. Chalamet can identify, sharing, “Eighty-five percent of this play is shit I would do.” He continues, “It’s things I have done—conversations I have had with teachers, the other kids, it’s just who I am. There’s, like, a 15% variable, let’s say, where I’m like, ‘Okay, that’s something I wouldn’t necessarily do.'” Read more on WMagazine.com.
