Miuccia Prada went the way of the sailor for the fashion house’s fall-winter 2016 men’s collection. Taking to a somber catwalk, models wore sailor caps and white sneakers or leather dress shoes as they tackled nautical staples. Navy peacoats, straight-cut trousers, laced pullovers, boxy leather jackets and shrunken suits contributed to the stylish outing.
Plaid outerwear also had its moment in the limelight, channeling a retro 1970s attitude with its use of piping and shearling. Tailored capes as well as oversized shirts featuring naval graphics and romantic images brought a drama and close to the strong fall collection.
