Pyer Moss draws inspiration from mental depression for its fall-winter 2016 collection.

Pyer Moss designer Kerby Jean-Raymond turned his attention to mental depression as he created his fall-winter 2016 collection. Creating a range of tension, Jean-Raymond entitled his outing Double Bind, which is “a situation in which a person is confronted with two irreconcilable demands or a choice between two undesirable courses of action.” This idea manifested itself into a range of leisurewear that heavily revolves around relaxed separates.

Starting at a simple point with joggers, graphic tops and robe-inspired outerwear featuring relaxed tailoring, the collection transitioned into a selection of quilted pieces. Alluding to padded rooms, refined quilting was reflected with pants, shirting and outerwear. Bringing star power to the outing, Erykah Badu styled the show, incorporating her own collection of accessories. Badu and Jean-Raymond also collaborated with jeweler Ugo Cacciatori for more collection pieces.
