PinRaf Simons offers a slash twist on traditional preppy style for its fall-winter 2016 men’s collection.
Raf Simons drew inspiration from Twin Peaks and imagined the cheeky context for a stylish slasher. Simons’ fall-winter 2016 collection honed in on the preppy high school aged victim. Embracing a retro attitude, pumping up the volume and highlighting worn, ragged hemlines, the range found its hero in oversized varsity sweaters.
Provided in an array of hues that are akin to various school colors, plunging v-neck sweaters, cardigans and crewneck knits were front and center. Elongating sleeves, sweaters poked outside the sleeves of even larger coats. Balancing out the larger silhouettes, the collection was rounded out by slim-cut trousers, often cropped above the ankle.
