Long coats pack a punch for Roberto Cavalli’s fall-winter 2016 collection, gravitating towards bold patterns like an animal print.

Entitled Real Opulence, Roberto Cavalli’s fall-winter 2016 collection marked the debut men’s outing of new creative director Peter Dundas. Taking aim at a wardrobe ideal for the twenty-first century dandy, Dundas referenced the 1960s and 70s for the Italian fashion house’s latest collection. Interested in the Cavalli man’s inner rock icon, Dundas infused the lineup with a sensual, sexual and decadent style befitting of music legends such as Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Jimmy Page and George Harrison.

Paying homage to designer Roberto Cavalli’s signature use of animal prints and rich fabrications, Dundas sent a Bohemian parade of looks down the catwalk. Dressed in earthy hues with splashes of jewel tones, long and lean silhouettes reigned. Flared trousers were paired with patterned shirts and narrow tailored jackets. From luxurious coats to updated sneakers, the use of velvet and leather brought the glamorous show full-circle.
