Barbour makes waves with its premium label Gold Standard by releasing a new campaign. The iconic brand enlists Sam Claflin as the face of its fall-winter 2020 collection. The Peaky Blinders actor showcases Barbour Gold Standard outerwear with a picturesque trip to the original home of Barbour–Scotland. Claflin travels to Glencoe, where he takes in the sights of the outdoors. Embracing a rugged appeal, the British actor dons jackets and coats that feature everything from waxed cotton to quilt fabrics.

“I am thrilled to be working with Barbour,” says Claflin. “It’s a brand I have admired for a long time, and the Barbour Gold Standard collection is outstanding. I was fortunate enough to have the protection and warmth of these jackets during our shoot in Scotland.”
Meanwhile, Barbour global marketing and commercial director Paul Wilkinson discusses partnering with Claflin for the season. “We are delighted to be working with Sam. He grew up in the British countryside, and Barbour jackets have always been part of his way of life.”

Wilkinson adds, “Our new sub-brand, Barbour Gold Standard is the most elevated of all of our menswear collections; it features a range of very thoughtfully designed jackets celebrating iconic pieces from our archives which will be sold through high-end retailers worldwide. Sam is the perfect choice to be the face of this luxury premium collection.”
When it comes to Barbour Gold Standard’s fall range, Claflin had no difficulty choosing his favorite piece. “My favorite jacket from the collection is the Supa Beaufort. It’s based on the Beaufort, one of Barbour’s iconic styles from the 1980s, which was designed by their chairman Dame Margaret Barbour.” Claflin adds, “The Supa Beaufort has all of the history and tradition of the Beaufort–it keeps all of the classic features of the original such as the bellows pockets, cord collar, and two-way zip but it’s a more contemporary jacket. And it is really warm!”
