Alder New York Fall/Winter 2014Alder New York founders David J. Krause and Nina Zilka look to the sport of snowboarding as they approach their fall/winter 2014 collection. Krause explains that “In extreme winter sports, the clothes and equipment have this intense practicality, but the athletes themselves seem very relaxed and casual in their daily lives.” Aiming to capture this spirit, the new collection embraces a laid-back attitude with a wardrobe of relaxed essentials. From the workman shirt to a cozy pair of longjohns, the range is all about comfort. Zilka adds “It’s all about looking the most stylish with the least amount of effort. That’s why we did the Plaid Double Sleeve Shirt and the Striped Double Sleeve Shirt. It creates the look of layers, but it is just one shirt you can simply throw on.”
