Tim Soar’s minimalist collection is positively stunning. Unadorned with embellishments and void of any great amount of color, Soar’s creations only have what matters most; their fit, sleek cut, and immaculate tailoring. It is difficult to achieve a silhouette that begins narrow, opens up, and still remains appealing, but Soar has done just that. Scaling back his Yohji-esque proportions for an understated elegance, Soar creates a modern look. The jackets are narrow with broad shoulders, yet perfectly suit trousers that maintain a loose silhouette without being overly wide. Not to be lost in the shuffle next season, Soar creates a clean signature look by moving buttons and fasteners far right instead of dead center. This subtle change not only moves fashion forward, but provides longevity.
