8045 is the brainchild of icelandic designer bóas kristjánsson

this 27 year old designer trained at the icelandic academy of the arts and later at the fashion academy of antwerp, before founding his label in 2008 and presenting his very first collection for spring 2010 …

8045 is the singularity at the heart of a blue-eyed infant universe, absorbing and radiating that which sparks its interest …

in this 100% knitwear collection the styles are all developed from the same 100% mercerized cotton thread (it’s more compact, gives a greater shine and looks more like silk) and the same knit pattern … all the blocks are linked together in the knit, which requires a specialized machine and leaves no seams …
“the colours are taken from various sources (nature, advertising, computer games), i try to set them up in a logical system … i link colours in a way that feels natural to me, as the light and colours in iceland have a vastness due to all the open space that is easy to observe … the low sun and the simple flora also make for very long gradients … this means that there aren’t really outstanding colours, they are all part of a system …”

beautifully interpreted by the great creativity and sensibility of photographer damien blottière this first collection is a ‘sans-faute’ and bóas kristjánsson definitely a new name to watch !
