Dissecting the traditional suit is no novel concept, but Carlos Doblas really tests the lines of gender with his latest collection. The suit is stretched outside its limits, being reinterpreted as an all-occasion ensemble of the future. Formal shirting is replaced by vest cuts and halved tees, while the jacket is adorned with metallic silver or shrunken down to a gutsy bolero style. Doblas’ boldness might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but at least he is making things interesting by pushing some boundaries.
