Designer Ute Ploier made a splash with her fall collection, utilizing a boxing motif for a subtle, but effective shift in menswear. However, this season sees a simpler approach. Leaving behind a somber fall, rays of optimism are seen in Ploier’s sporty collection of thin lines–in terms of both shape and print. From small lapels and slim silhouettes to a chic cropped blazer, Ploier treads lightly, giving into practicality with a modern charm. Minor details like her futuristic hats indicate a daring spirit, but for the most part this season remains grounded and of this world–of this time. The garments are light and the colors muted–it’s a season of new beginnings and prospects.
