Designer Johanna Bloomfield proves that bright colors are not necessary to liven a season. Avoiding an all-to prominent black, the New York-based designer has fashioned her latest collection of gray and black after utilitarian simplicity. The Johannes Faktotum man appears flawless in a full-range of heat defying pieces. T-shirt cut knits, barely there tanks, translucent shorts and outerwear give the collection a distinctive character. Bloomfield effortlessly eases in and out of basics like the tee and modern reinterpretations of pieces like the raincoat, all while maintaining a steadfast focus. An ethereal vision, the collection manages to be fashion-forward, while also having a commercial appeal. Positively refreshing, the range has a piece for everyone, whether it is the everyday guy or handbag toting style aficionado.
