Last week, Timo Weiland added to their highly talked about accessories line with the debut of a menswear collection. Surprisingly, while their accessories are larger than life statement pieces, the collection is low-key–working with subtle details. Encompassing a “sporty Edwardian” look, the collection is very much driven by suiting and knits. Twinsets may play it coy, while pleated trousers show a little ankle, but it is the range’s jackets that get the most attention. Indulging Timo Weiland’s whimsical nature, jackets embrace a simple color palette and sleek lines, but are given character with enlarged lapels. At large, the collection is a balancing act of quirks and modesty, which ultimately results in a safe affair. However, with more spontaneity akin to the accessories line, this season could be the beginning of something great.
