When it comes to men’s activewear, one thing tends to take priority over all else –keeping sweat to a minimum. Gone are the days of wearing oversized sweatshirts and pants that only make for more moisture: 2018 trends are all about keeping things tight and fitted where they need to be while allowing for the room just in high-movement areas you’ll need to stay loose and stretched. With moisture-wicking technology making a name for itself, keeping things close will end up making for a more relaxed workout and look, as well.

Keep it Tight with Tapered Leg Pants

If you’re bending, squatting, lifting, and pulling, everyone knows having a little room around the thighs is essential, but there’s no need to keep things loose further down the leg. A tapered track or sweatpant can make for a contemporary way help you say warm while the continually changing spring temps are figuring out what they’re doing out there, and you won’t have to worry about everything from the knee down gathering up around your thighs if you’re inside working that leg press.

Up Your Performance with a Body-Hugging T-Shirt

There’s nothing more comfortable to work out in than a t-shirt, but when you go too big and loose, you could end up with more fabric to fuss over, distracting you from accomplishing your workout goals. Performance jersey blends tend to leave that little bit of extra room in the shoulders and chest for easy mobility, but cinch it in just slightly around the waist, allowing for a full range of motion without all that mess in the middle to deal with.

Try Breathable, Bamboo Men’s Fitness Apparel

People are easily able to keep sweat to a minimum while supporting ethical practices thanks to bamboo fitness apparel. Using bamboo viscose, a renewable source, this option allows for pieces that are just as soft and comfortable as they are moisture-wicking and bacteria-blocking to create an allergy and odor-free fabric that’s smart, sustainable, and sweat-free.

Stay Prepared with a Lightweight Layer that’s Water-Resistant

There’s no telling what Mother Nature is gonna have in store for us from one day to the next during the spring season, but you don’t have to pack a bulky coat just in case. Layering your look with a lightweight, water-resistant zip-up topper can offer a stylish break from the primary hoodie. Loose necks and mesh inserts not only work hard to keep you looking great, but will also work smart to keep you dry and fresh on any outdoor runs, or commutes to and from a gym or class.

Keep it Lean with Leggings

There’s a reason women practically live in their leggings — they’re a no-fuss way to feel comfortable and great at the same time, and these looks carry over into the gym too! Compression tights make a great way to get the most out of cardio-heavy workouts, such as running or basketball, by providing support while regulating temperature, and all without breaking the bank. Feel a little too exposed? Just layer a pair of loose shorts over the top for a comfortable look that will have you feeling equal parts functional, and fashionable.

Protect Your Skin in a Proper Long-Sleeved Shirt

The first signs of spring are typically soaked in sunlight, which is why you’ll want to cover up any extremities you may not have time to protect with an SPF. Since your pant of choice will likely be a solid or muted tone, don’t be afraid to go big and bold here, and play around with the bright geometric graphics and prints that are popping up all over fitness wear this season.
