Peering out of an International Language Centre on lower George Street during a cigarette break, the gentleman combined a curiously proportioned cardigan, which almost looked just like knitted sleeves, with a voluminous shirt that flared noticeably at the bottom, was particularly striking, and mirrored the shape of both the gentleman’s hair style, and worn in, brimmed hat, that would have looked at home a top a scarecrow.
This trapezoidal shape was a feature of Marni’s S/S 09 collection, inspired by an early twentieth Finnish portrait artist. The colour palette, was however, in this instance, warmer than the greys previously seen at Marni, with a plaid fabric of yellowy ochres chosen for the shirt.
