Chiwetel Ejiofor

Chiwetel Ejiofor is an English actor. Born on July 10, 1977, Ejiofor received his acting break as James Covey in 1997’s Amistad. He went on to star in films like 12 Years a Slave, Doctor Strange, and Dirty Pretty Things. Going mainstream, Ejiofor landed the role of Scar for 2019’s The Lion King. In 2008, Queen Elizabeth II appointed Ejiofor Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to the arts. The 2015 Birthday Honours resulted in the elevation of his position to Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
