Church’s enlists British actor Theo James as the face of its spring-summer 2025 campaign, titled “Stage Craft.” Captured in black-and-white images by photographer Phil Poynter and creatively directed by David James, the series plays with dualities—public and private, poised and relaxed—capturing James as a man inhabiting roles while remaining grounded in tradition.

In each frame, James personifies the Church’s gentleman, borrowing the mood of British theatre’s golden age while seated among props, backdrops, and off-duty moments that evoke rehearsals between acts.

This season, Theo James slips into Church’s must-have footwear. From the high-frequency broguing on the Chetwynd Contour to the archival Milton and featherweight Maesteg loafer, each design is steeped in heritage but recut for the present.
The standout Portsmouth, a penny loafer with a rubber sole, plays the rebel—part gentleman, part modernist.

Church’s spring-summer 2025 campaign marks another style-forward moment for James, who recently spoke with Mr Porter about his evolving relationship with fashion and the intensity of his latest role in “The Monkey.”
Whether on-screen or mid-campaign, he wears every look with the conviction of a seasoned lead—his presence, like the shoes, designed for both the spotlight and the in-between.
