Designer Thom Browne championed quite the tailored narrative for his fall-winter 2016 men’s collection. The American designer imagined a meeting of gentlemen, who lived through the turbulent 1920s, which ended in the Great Depression. Unveiling his collection in sets of three evolving ensembles, each man’s outfit makes the transition from the early 1920s to tattered, depression chic.
Models made quite the gloomy appearance, hitting the runway in bowler hats that covered their faces, leaving the path open for an anonymous approach to Browne’s trim suiting. The results revolved around Browne’s beloved grey and navy, dressing fur trimmed coats, cuffed trousers and outerwear featuring variations on plaid.
