Topman partners with American artist Curtis Kulig for its most recent collaboration. The stylish outing is rooted in Curtis’ personal style and features accents showcasing his original artwork. A departure from his Love Me series, Kulig blends his style aesthetic with fine art references.

Connecting with his friend, model and photographer Michael Avedon, Kulig is captured in the collection. Visiting iconic Upper East Side locales, Kulig poses for pictures at  The Carlyle, Central Park and Viand Diner.

Discussing his exclusive range in an interview, Kulig dishes on the difference between creating clothes and art. He shares, “Creating clothing is much more pattern and color based and you have a fairly clear intention from the outset. There are boundaries. Buttons go here, a sleeve looks like this. We all know these things. Painting is different in that there aren’t quite as many rules.”

Kulig continues, “The rules that apply most are color and texture, so perhaps they ‘re more alike than I thought. Attaching my finished work for graphical patterns and as linings really made the process feel balanced.” Shop Curtis Kulig’s Topman collaboration on Topman.com.
