Vikings star Travis Fimmel snags one of four covers for At Large magazine’s most recent issue. The Australian actor embraces a rugged sensibility as he heads outdoors for a black & white shoot with photographer Randall Mesdon. Embracing timeless fashions from the likes of Coach and Rag & Bone, Fimmel is styled by Julie Ragolia.

Fimmel connects with the magazine to dish on his latest project–Warcraft. Talking about filming, Fimmel confides, “So you have fake dirt. And the horses have so much armor on; it’s very true to the game. I had to ride up and stop. But a huge fan came on, it just freaked out the horse.” Fimmel continues, “So he bucked up because he couldn’t find his feet. And we went back about ten yards. And then he fell backwards.” Fimmel was fine, but he confesses, “It was pretty funny watching four hundred people on the set go [silent].”
Fimmel also recalls his days modeling and his iconic Calvin Klein underwear advertisements. He shares, “I didn’t know what Calvin Klein was. But it’s the easiest job I’ve ever done. You just stand there like a dummy. Get a visa for three years, get a bit of cash. Don’t know how else I would have stayed here.”
