Walter Van Beirendonck Fall/Winter 2014–Known for his extravagant use of colors and prints, Walter Van Beirendonck took to the Parisian catwalk with a battalion of models. Donning helmets, the bright uniforms of Van Beirendonck’s soliders included printed leggings, striped suiting separates and harnessed coats. Offering his own take on collegiate wear, the smart sweater was revamped with loud brazen designs. Shown along textured tops, oversized ponchos and parkas, Van Beirendonck, who often celebrates diverse cultures in his work, without exploiting, made a statement with headdresses boasting slogans such as Stop Racism.
