Won Hundred finds inspiration for its fall-winter 2016 collection in cinema. Looking to J.C. Chandor’s critically acclaimed A Most Violent Year, Won Hundred founder and creative director Nikolaj Nielsen shares, “I wanted to portray the clashes between sensibility and roughness.”
Nielsen continues, “The characters attitudes and the pressured atmosphere floating in New York City in 1981 led me towards exposing the realness of the two opposing poles through heavy and soft fabrics and strong silhouettes.” A Most Violent Year’s tough environment informs the collection’s use of wool and leather.
Providing a heavy exterior and layer of protection from the elements, tailored overcoats and short leather jackets come together. Presenting contrast, lightness is explored throughout the range with the use of soft shapes and modest style vehicles like the casual tee and mock turtleneck.
