Future Thrift–Continuing the celebration of their tenth anniversary, Y-3 jettisons through their heritage and on to the future with their fall/winter 2013 collection. “Walking backward into the future” as designer Yohji Yamamoto expressed, the show held on the Lower East Side juxtaposed a relevant streetwear aesthetic with graphic prints and voluminous silhouettes. Armed with acid green, hot pink and bright orange, the season’s wardrobe included tailored quilted blazers, lengthened button-down shirts and hi-tech coats featuring removable elements. Rounded out by footwear for the active man on the go, shoes were made for running, cross-training and more.
