Y-3 creative director Yohji Yamamoto hit a minimal stride with his spring-summer 2016 menswear collection for the label. The starting point of the season were sketches, where Yamamoto imagined Adidas’ 3 Stripes in Motion. Those same drawings, along with self-portraits of the designer cover tees in the lineup. Unveiled during Paris Fashion Week with the backdrop of the TAO Dance Theater performing avant-garde choreography, the collection hit the catwalk with drop crotch pants, striped separates, jersey tees and voluminous ponchos among the season’s highlights.
